COMPETITION OVERVIEW

This competition will consist of five phases:

 1.       Dressage

Each competitor will ride a dressage test.  Your test will be judged and your final percentage will be divided by 10 and that mark will count towards your final score.

 2.       Showjumping

The showjumps will range in height from 18 inches, to approximately 3ft 3in.  Each showjump must be attempted in order of smallest first to largest, riders can withdraw from the showjumping at any stage.  Each jump successfully cleared will earn 2 points.  There are no points for a knock down, the rider may however proceed to the next fence.  Three refusals will result in 0 points for showjumping.

 3.       Control of Gaits

Riders must canter along a 150m corridor as slowly as possible without breaking pace.  Breaking pace results in 0 points, as does overstepping the edge of the corridor.  Riders must enter the corridor in canter.  Points are gained for each second OVER 27 seconds, which would earn 1 point with a maximum of 30 points  for a time of 33.8 or more seconds.  Riders then have a maximum of 25 seconds to turn around, establish walk, and walk back along the corridor as quickly as possible, again without breaking pace (0 points) and without stepping outside the corridor.  Points are awarded for each second UNDER 96 seconds (which would be 1 point) to a time of 67 seconds or less (which would be 30 points).

4.       Le Trec Obstacles

Riders will set off around a course of Le Trec obstacles which may include a gate, reinback, corridor, log jump, bending, step up etc, maximum of 16 obstacles.

All obstacles have a maximum mark of 10 points.

The combination with the most points at the end of the day wins!
