BRC Rule Book 2007: Dress code for XC competitions
Cross-country – Horse Trials and Hunter Trials RIDERS MUST WEAR A HARD HAT TO AT LEAST THE MINIMUM STANDARD, WITH A HARNESS PROPERLY ADJUSTED AND FASTENED. Hats marked EN1384 or PASO15 or prefixed ASTM or SEI. American standard SNELL.E95 and Australian/New Zealand standard SNZ3838 1998 are also acceptable. Where a hat is of skull cap style, this must be worn with a silk which is black, dark blue colour. FIXED PEAKS ARE NOT ALLOWED CROSS COUNTRY. Jodhpurs/ Breeches White, cream or beige breeches Boots Plain black or brown, which may also be top boots or jodhpur boots. The boots should be of traditional style. Gaiters may be worn if they are of identical leather to the boots and have no decoration of any sort. Shirts and sweatshirt Sweatshirt or shirt. Hunting stock is recommended for safety. A body protector is obligatory for cross- country competitions (horse trials and hunter trials). Hair and Jewellery jewellery or any items worn in facial or body piercing are NOT PERMITTED. Hair must be neatly secured and MUST not hang lower than the shoulder line (when standing normally) Gloves Whips Not greater than 75cm (30”) or less than 45cm (18”). Nor should it be weighted or with a hard point at the end. Spurs Spurs of excessively severe design may not be worn. Such designs include spurs with necks set on the inside of the heel, spurs with roughed or cutting edges and serrated spurs with or without necks. Seniors are permitted to wear spurs with smooth rowels that do not exceed 1cm. With necks not in excess of 3cm are allowed. Watches Watches capable of being started and recording time elapsed are FORBIDDEN. Competitors are not permitted to take mobile phones on the course when competing. No receiving, recording, transmitting or monitoring device may be used by a competitor during any phase in any competition. Medical Armbands Medical Armbands are COMPULSORY. |
