Nikki Mival - Secretary
Hi, I'm Nikki Mival and I've been secretary to the Riding Club for 2½ years. My duties are to take the minutes of the committee meetings, sort out correspondence, and update the mail shot. Since November 2003 I've been involved in the show committee, and I'll be taking all your entries.
For my sins I own 2 chestnut mares, Annabelle, a
15 year old part bred
Janet Costidell - Web Master I’m
Janet Costidell, I’ve been married to Tim for 11 years, and mum to two boys
aged 7 and 10. My equine boys are Rocky, a TB x Sec D who is 17 years young
(home bred), and Mango, a Knabstrupper gelding, a great character and all
round nice bloke.
I’ve lived in Nannerch for 11 years now, we were relocated here with Tim’s job from South East London. We’ve never wanted to move back, but it’s nice to visit family and old haunts now and again. I did some competing with my pony in my youth, then had a long break during which time I bred some foals, had some babies, then started competing at Le Trec. I love Le Trec, and competed as far away as Scotland, and at the highest level, but unfortunately, it became too expensive, and I gave it up. When Mango came along, I started competing in dressage, and found how addictive it is, and that’s my current obsession …………….. although I am starting jumping! I’ve been on the main committee since March, and on the show Committee since last year, and my job is to maintain the website, and raise public awareness of the riding club by doing little bits of PR here and there, so keep your eyes peeled!
CHRISTINE AND LAWRENCE WILLIAMS
Hi, my name
is Chris Williams and I'm a teacher in a
local secondary school. I live in
Caerwys with my husband Lawrence and our
three and a half horses, 3 dogs, 12 cats
and numerous sheep.
Lawrence
rides Jorvik a Cleveland Bay
xThoroughbred x Dutch Warmblood who is
as stroppy as his owner! He has been
known to do the odd dressage competition
and is keen on eventing, but his outings
have been a little sparse of late. My
old competition horse Prinny, is a
Thoroughbred x Irish Draught, and the
nicest chap imaginable, but his legs are
not quite up to the stress of
competition these days. We manage weekly
hacks and the occasional fun ride but
not much else. Mouse is my competition
horse. She is Welsh Cob x Thoroughbred
and a stunning black mare. We have done
a bit of dressage during the winter but
are now concentrating on eventing. We
have done a few affiliated events and
are making some good progress. The half
horse is a miniature Shetland called
Millie who keeps Mouse company and acts
as the calming influence.
I help to
compile the diary dates for the
newsletter and am particularly
interested in horse trials.
FIONA HOLDSWORTH Hello, my name is Fiona Holdsworth and I have been on the main committee for two years now and on the show committee for a year. I live in St Asaph with my husband Richard and my black labrador Paddy (the love of my life) we also have 16 hens and two pet sheep. I have been riding since the age of two when I had a donkey called Neddy, I then progressed on to pony showing until I was about 17. I then had a break from horses until 3 years ago when the urge to ride again became too strong. I own a beautiful 16’1 chestnut mare called Berry and a grey shetland called Dolly who has bags and bags of character. My duties on the committee involve compiling the diary dates pages for the website and the newsletters and on the show committee I arrange all the sponsorship and schedule advertising for the show - a pretty mamouth task!
MARIE GELLION My name is Marie Gellion and I am responsible for organising the Flint and Denbigh Debbye Jones Clinics. These clinics are held most Thursdays between 5 and 9pm, at Northop, and are very popular. At the moment I do not work, because I am bringing up 3 boys - Liam (8), Elliot (6) and Daniel (18 months). I have 2 horses of my own, plus a child's pony that no one wants to ride. My partners name is Steve Boyle. He has his own horse, Harvee, who does affiliated dressage. They are currently training for the Regional Championships. Steve is also training for his BHS stages, having currently passed his preliminary teaching test. I myself am a BHSAI. We all live at home in Babell, with the horses, 3 dogs and a cat. |
